The Asset Management and Private Banking Conference, attended by more than 200 delegates, took place in Athens Grande Bretagne Hotel, on Wednesday, April 13. During its sessions, keynote speakers and panelists expressed different points of view, illustrated and assessed the new directions, trends, strategies and investment opportunities designed to cope with uncertainty, restore confidence and promote investment in the global recovery.

International keynote speaker Willem H. Buiter Willem Buiter works as a senior adviser on global economic issues. He is the Chief Economist of Citi Investment Research & Analysis and holds the Chair in European Political Economy in the European Institute, London School of Economics and Political Science.

International keynote speaker Jean-Baptiste de Franssu Jean-Baptiste de Franssu is the President of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (E.F.A.M.A.), as well as the Chief Executive Officer of INVESCO Europe, a position he holds since 1996 when INVESCO Europe was founded.

International keynote speaker Pascal Botteron Pascal is in charge of research, due diligence and distribution for hedge funds and mutual funds for Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management.

International keynote speaker Branko Milanovic Branko Milanovic is Lead economist in World Bank Research Department dealing with poverty and income inequality; and College Park Professor, University of Maryland. George Papaconstantinou George Papaconstantinou is the Minister of Finance of Greece. He is an economist, holding a B.Sc. from the London School of Economics, an M.A. from the New York University, and a PhD in economics from London School of Economics.

George Koutroumanis George Koutroumanis is the Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security of Greece. He studied Mathematics in the University of Athens. He has been working in the Social Security Sector since 1984.

Elena Panaritis Elena Panaritis is a Greek Member of Parliament, an institutional economist, and author. As an economist at the World Bank for over a decade she spearheaded several institutional reforms.

Anastassis Gabrielides Anastassis Gabrielides is Chairman of the Hellenic Capital Markets Commission. He also holds an LL.M degree from Harvard University and the London School of Economics.

Aris Xenofos In 2007 he is elected a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Fund and Asset Management Association (HFAMA), and in 2008 he takes over as Chairman of the Association. He is also Managing Director of Eurobank EFG M.F.M.C.

Paul Mylonas Paul Mylonas was appointed General Manager in 2004. His responsibilities were broadened in December 2010 when he became General Manager of Strategy and Governance at National Bank of Greece in December 2010.

Gikas Hardouvelis Gikas A. Hardouvelis is a Professor at the Department of Banking & Financial Management at the University of Piraeus, Greece, and Chief Economist and Head of Economic Research of EUROBANK EFG.
